The ideal candidate should have a demonstrated aptitude for building a brand and strong editorial vision, as well as the ability to guide and lead reporters and set the tone for the publication. He or she will also have at least five years of experience covering the business of finance, with a keen understanding of the specific challenges banks in the space face with the transition to a digital era. Excellent writing and editing skills are a must.
The ideal candidate will also have strong connections and sources both in and out of the industry and be comfortable representing Tearsheet at events and industry gatherings both domestically and internationally.
Ultimately, we’re looking for someone who has the experience and drive to build a new kind of publication for the industry.
Specific job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Charting the editorial vision for Tearsheet while working with other members of the editorial team at Digiday
- Reporting stories for Tearsheet
- Day to day editing of stories, long-term planning for features
- Working with Digiday’s events team to lead planning for summits, conferences and hosting events for Tearsheet
